Belly Dance Academy of Nayima Hassan, Sat 18 Mar.

This is the place to be for fun and fitness – AND the chance to appear in your very first Flashmob! Yes, come and spend a couple of hours learning some easy moves in the gracious art of Belly Dance, then opt in if you dare, and take part in a pop-up Belly Dance A Belly Dance Fringe Flashmob sq - Adelaide Fringe 2017 - The Clotheslinein a mystery venue around town.

Nayima’s warm nature makes us feel welcome in her exotic studio, and we soon feel the part with ‘jingly’ scarves over our day clothes. In the space of two hours she teaches us to Shimmy, do Snake Arms and an Egyptian version of The Macarena. Each step is taught slowly and thoroughly and so, apart from getting the top half of the body to move separately from the bottom, it’s pretty easy! Before long we can string together the individual moves we have learnt and complete a belly dance all the way through.

Look out Adelaide – either be part of it, or hang around town hoping for it to burst out in a place near you – The Fringe Final Day Flashmob!
