Gluttony’s The Bally, Sun Mar 1

Fairy Lee delights the children in her one-person show by entering the room from the back in her gorgeous purple ensemble. Costumes are so important in a children’s performance, and first impressions really do last!! She outdid herself, and was professional and poised. Her show was carefully accompanied by suitably fairy-like music, and included a bevy of simple yet effective magic tricks; the turning of a picture into a live bird, a guinea pig into and enormous white rabbit, and some magically flowering blooms.

Small tricks such as butterflies scattered across the stage, lots of colour and items the children were allowed to take home off the stage. Fairy Lee invited a couple of children onstage to assist with her next trick, and the setup of the room was pleasant in that all the kids could sit up the front on the small chairs. Her simplicity and smile won all the kids over, her great communication with the audience and her seamlessness in moving from one item to the next made the show quite smooth.

Fairy Lee’s collection of white animals used onstage was an absolute winner; I personally enjoyed her purple highlighted hair. The 45-minute show was just the right length for the three to eight-year-olds present that day. Even with the Clipsal cars taking over the airwaves at stages she smiled on and just continued.

Very good work! We really enjoyed it.
