[MUSIC ~ GBR]
Gluttony – The Moa, Tue 19 Feb.
Welcome to ‘The Jungle’, one of the last vestiges of happiness. This group of men, simply put, are amazing. If you are lucky enough, you may be pulled on stage before the show starts to join the guys for a beer! The crowd interaction during the entire show makes the night even more entrancing.
The show is based on a group of guys at their local bar, The Jungle. Josh, the bar tender, silently judging soft drink consumers, Shaun, the smooth talker, Ally, the half-pint classically-trained pianist hobbit, Norton, a beast…a really lovely beast, Jay, the king of spin and banter and a joker, Luke, the buff strong man, and George, the quiet one(!?) – hahahaha
George brings it all together with his narrative and the whole message that you bring home with you is uplifting and full of love, friendship and hope for the future and the present. If this show doesn’t hit you in the feels – are you even human?
The choreography is so precise, yet looks so easy and natural. The harmonies are just divine and the arrangement of the songs is fabulous.
This pub is the perfect happy place to be. As George so eloquently puts, “Getting drunk is easy, being there, really being there – that’s an art!”, and I guess that is the underlying message.
The audience gave this group massive standing ovations and the cheers and noise of appreciation of the show was enough to nearly bring the tent down.
Seriously!!! This is a must see show of the Fringe!
