The Griffins Hotel – The Balcony Room, Sat 17 Feb.

[COMEDY – UK]

Drop in to The Griffins, pull up a chair and get a taste of UK comedy from this smorgasbord. Different acts each night, so the selection is always fresh! The warm-up is red-hot and on topic, with plenty of political laughs,Aaaaaaaargh! Best Of Fringe Comedy From The UK small - ADLfringe - The Clothesline and the odd cultural impersonation thrown in.

Our entertainers include the much-loved staple of the Scottish comedy scene Vladimir McTavish, rocking a Rod Stewart haircut-gone-wrong and a loud blue tartan suit. McTavish is pure dead brilliant; drawing parallels in Australian politics and Swedish industry, pondering on the solidarity of kit form furniture, and how one screw can have the whole cabinet fall down.

Moving on to main course we have Londoner, Terry North, born just out of wedlock, getting raucous laughs from the crowd, and clearly enjoying his craft. Finishing off the evening was Gordon Southern, a lover of comedy tapas, seamlessly weaving AFL and same-sex marriage into a convincing dance and sending us all home with a grin on our faces. Degustation delights.
