Gluttony – The Speakeasy, Sat 27 Feb.

The extremely talented and badass trio Samora Squid, Jenn O. Cide and Princess Tweedle Needle have joined forces to bring us Absurdities Freakshow. As the name suggests, it is definitely a Freak show!

All the way from Tasmania, Samora Squid shows off his ability to dislocate his joints on cue. Further grossing out the audience by twisting his dislocated limb past 360 degrees, then simply shaking the limb to pop all the joints back in to place. Squid also boasts his uncanny ability to contort his body, basically folding himself in half on stage. And then there’s the sword swallowing!

Jenn O. Cide joins the act from Las Vegas. Her favourite snack is glass – and why wouldn’t it be?! She is also rated third in the world for weight lifting with the strangest part of her body you could possibly imagine. Plus, to earn some extra cash to fund the expensive liquor in Australia, she invites audience members to staple notes to parts of her body; the higher the dollar, the more insane the placement.

Berlin’s Princess Tweedle Needle is in a dark, unhappy place after a bad breakup. She uses the pent-up anger to amaze the audience; laying down then standing on sharp machetes is just the start. As her name might suggest, she likes needles! …Piercing long, sharp needles that she threads through her skin with ease and no visible pain. And of course, upon removal, there was blood. Princess also has an insane ability for weight lifting which must be seen to be believed!

This insanely unhinged and freakily surreal act is a ‘must go to’ at this year’s Adelaide Fringe. But beware! There is blood, gore and bizarrely eccentric abilities to be seen!
