Arkaba – Top Of The Ark, Thu Feb 12

The comedian usually known for being the “Loosest Aussie Bloke Ever” returned to his hometown of Adelaide so famous he’s now being recognised as That Guy From The Internet. Williamson gives local fans an opportunity to see him in the flesh and it isn’t one to be missed. He usually provides a close up headshot of himself and his foul-mouthed humour on Instagram or YouTube so it is actually a rare chance to see him further away than normal.

Williamson is disgracefully offensive, outrageously inappropriate and somehow extremely funny. He has a fascinating ability to take the most horrendous subject matter and turn it into a joke. Intimate relationship tales, paedophilia and alleged drug dealing on Hindley Street are just a few of the topics he gives his thoughts on. Basically think of every issue you would be horrified to chat to your parents about at dinner and Williamson likely covers it; nothing is off limits.

Showing off his diverse talents, Williamson also provides his trademark use of multimedia on stage and proves to be a talented musician. His vocal and acoustic skills might even make Paul McCartney proud. That being said, McCartney would also raise an eyebrow if he listened closely to lyrics. Exposing private areas at a children’s playground and an x-rated history lesson on medieval times are some of the things on the menu during his hilarious musical numbers.

The show is beyond rude and offensive, but you laugh so much you forget to feel terrible about what you have just heard. If you are not on board with his style of humour, at least you’re guaranteed to come away with curse words you didn’t know existed! During the performance Williamson gives himself a thorough self-assessment. It’s difficult to conjure a better one; “he’s a funny c**t.”
