E for Ethel, Wed Mar 4

Tonight, it was a small audience that listened to the musings of Madelena – in song and poetry form – and also contributed to her future creations.

Madelena Andersen-Ward is a guitarist and singer song writer from Tasmania who seems to have an older head on her shoulders than the age of her years. Although she seems to have been a prolific writer of prose about feelings, she also has an innocence about her while she sings of emotions usually reserved for those a little older than she, and for that reason I believe she may have felt a lot in her earthly time.

Before the show started we were encouraged to take one of the rain sticks provided so that during her performance we could contribute as we felt we wanted. There was also a notebook placed on each table so that we could write some words or draw a picture that would later be used as inspiration for future works.

Madelena has started with an interesting idea and with more experience of performance and life, her ideas, poetry and songs will grow with her.
