[COMEDY/Stand Up ~ NSW]
The May Wirth at Gluttony, Tue 25 Feb.
If you are looking for a laid back evening full of laughs, then this is the show for you. Akmal Saleh casually commands the stage, looking at the funny side of everyday life. Not too shy to share the wonders of his own personal life, he knows how to laugh at himself and not take himself (or anyone else) too seriously.
Akmal shares stories of his family and youth in Punchbowl, NSW, through to his current life in NSW’s Northern Rivers. With his Egyptian heritage in hand, he cheekily points out cultural differences, and hilariously plays with the notion of racist comments reversed.
Akmal makes good use of his audience and their banter. I imagine no two Akmal shows could ever be quite the same with his impromptu style. While the promotional material may differ to the actual performance you see, you are guaranteed a laugh. He is a master of comedy and it is well worth the random ride through Akmal’s mind.
Akmal – Open For Renovations Encore Performance continues at The May Wirth at Gluttony from 8pm until Sun 1 Mar.
