[COMEDY/STAND UP ~ USA]

It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen a stand-up comedy act that left my face sore from laughter – until now. In his new show We Need To Talk Arj Barker continues his adept observational comedy style we’ve come to know and love. From making fun of our collective obsession with technology, the trials of relationships and how our rage-filled culture is affecting our ability to connect with each other, Barker uses his personal life as the basis for much of his comedy. Every joke and punchline is filled with experience and emotional truth: be it joy, anger and annoyance, making the whole routine all the more relatable and entertaining.

As a relatively newlywed man, Barker’s views on domestic life drew howls of laughter from the varied aged audience. Not to shy away from blunt truths, no one is spared from Barker’s well executed barbs. From his sympathy and annoyance of millennials to the never ending war between which generation had it worst, Arj Barker reveals that many of life’s experiences are universal and best dealt with humour and pathos.

Barker’s 30+ years of experience as a comedian shine through with his ability to not only bring the house down with collective laughter but also have the audience on his side every step of the way.
