After blowing audiences away at last year’s Adelaide Fringe, Canada’s Cirque Alfonse are back with the bizarre, but totally sexy BARBU Electro Trad Cabaret. Cirque Alfonse have ensured they are presenting a unique circus experience that stands out in a busy Fringe program with a Barbu Electro Trad Cabaret sq - Adelaide Fringe 2017 - The Clotheslinegreat mix of highly skilled circus tricks, engrossing live music and peculiar presentation that keeps the audience eagerly awaiting what on earth might happen next. Will they start woodchopping on stage or perform a gymnastics rainbow ribbon routine in speedos next?

The four male acrobats are burly hipsters whose facial hair and style would make any Adelaide barrister jealous and who thrust a brilliantly awkward sexual energy into the crowd. The innovative group is also made of by two female acrobats equally pushing the boundaries of flexibility, strength and craziness and one outrageous creepy illusionist and his guinea pig assistant.

The show touches on the 19th Century origins of circus and is made up of tricks in roller skates, juggling, balancing, flips off see-saws, pole dancing, hula-hoops and magic tricks. Each trick flowed seamlessly into each other and each performer moved with an intense, purposeful direction, which was prepared perfectly to match the intense live music blasting.
