Austral Hotel – The Bunka, Sun 14 Mar

Batman, Superman, The Hulk, Thor, everyone has their own favourite superhero. But the question is, how do you pick the most superior superhero, who rains supreme superhero of all the superheros? Well, the only way to find out is to have a battle of course, pitting superhero against superhero with the aid of three “highly knowledgeable” comedians.

Host Nik Coppin takes to the stage to explain the proceeding of the night – three comedians will each represent one superhero for the night, fighting to win over audience members and go straight through to the grand final battle.

No two nights are the same and tonight our superhero clash was between Ant Man, Iron Man and Kill Girl. First up was Matt Price representing Ant Man, who mainly tried to talk the audience out of voting for him and described how he could catch The Flash. Then we had Andrew Silverwood spruiking for Iron Man. However this was less than impressive as he checked his cheat notes written on his hand discounting Iron Man and his abilities rather than going in to bat for him. Cat Grey was last to join the stage as she spoke about the wonderfully endearing characteristics of Kill Girl. In-between all this mayhem was superhero based quiz games and fair amount of heckling.

While it was a fun and entertaining evening, for those members of the audience that are huge superhero fans, the lack of actual knowledge and enthusiasm from some of the comedians could be disheartening. However, with the great audience interaction and fun quizzes it was an enjoyable night.
