The Garden Of Unearthly Delights’ Vagabond, Sun Feb 15

It is nice to attend a children’s program and be able to appreciate the genuine talent onstage. Considering today’s heatwave, we entered with trepidation into The Vagabond, not knowing the degree of suffocation we may endure – but it was not so. Pleasantly cooled, the venue housed kids and families ages four or so and above, all of whom loved the funky presence of the trio of singer/dancers, Boomstars.

Accompanied by enthusiastic dancer Josh and the Mad Scientist who tries to interrupt and take over their show, the professionalism of these young entertainers is impressive. Interactive, polished, and fabulously costumed, this group wouldn’t go astray with their own regular gig or kids show, on a larger scale. Their songs were fun and age appropriate (ages 3-9) and their overall stage presence was good for the parents to enjoy rather than tolerate which can unfortunately be the case with some shows.

Genuinely enjoyable, funny and slick.
