Cirque Africa Big Top, Sat 18 Feb.

Exciting and exotic, this show will make you smile and laugh – and have you on the edge of your seat! The circus troupe originate from four countries, have been touring Australia for the last two years, and are now in Adelaide sharing their African sights, sounds and vibes.Cirque Africa - Adelaide Fringe 2017 - The Clothesline

Backed by a live band, Ringmaster Papa Africa reminds us that a good live audience gets a good live show, so we produced lots of noise and almost threw our babies in the air! We were rewarded with a show that was entertaining on so many levels – visually colourful, outstanding original music, exceptional skills and lots of warm feel-good energy.

Under a big top, with African beats and tribal print costumes we were transported to an almost magical space. The repertoire included comedy, foot juggling, hand balancing, rola bola, dance and more. No live animals, though there was a mystical carpet bag that skated along the floor and had everyone puzzling in wonder. Ten men as agile as monkeys and as strong as bears clambered up vertical poles and built human towers; they made it look so easy. It was clear to see that a lot of time and dedication has gone into perfecting their skills.

You will spin out watching some of the acts, and see things that people probably shouldn’t do with their kitchen furniture! Don’t try this at home, but definitely go see it at Cirque Africa.
