Comedy Hypnosis! Entranced: Listen Closely To The Sound Of Isaac Lomman’s Voice – Adelaide Fringe Review

Gluttony – The Peacock, Wed 17 Feb Isaac Lomman has that deep voice that you expect a hypnotist to have to put you into a deep trance like state but what makes this man a genius is, his ability to do this in front of a live audience. When you picture a hypnotist, you expect to see a man in a suit with a watch. Well Isaac is a very tall suave looking man in a suit (bow tie and all) with a really deep voice but I have to say, there is no swaying pendant watch to be found! In this hour-long show in The Peacock, Isaac spends the first 10-15 minutes getting his 12 willing audience volunteers into a hypnotic trance-like state. Even this seemingly long time getting them set up isn’t boring, as Isaac keeps the crowd entertained with his quick hypnotist wit and some very animated facials. Over the course of the hypnotic induction, Isaac loses a few but, as he explains at the beginning of the show, sometimes it is just not their day! He believes that anybody anywhere can be hypnotised; it is just that some are harder than others. Although Isaac hosts the show, the real stars are the guests who volunteer to be hypnotised. You will be amazed at how much a simple suggestion from Isaac, seems hilarious! It is very much situational comedy and as you don’t know who or what is getting up on stage each night, you never know what may happen. Tonight’s show was sold out and every night is a different show - with different volunteers and different suggestions. I’m not sure if you will be satisfied seeing this hilarious and family-friendly show just once.
