Australia: A Whinging Poms Guide: Dan Willis Is Loving His Aussie Life ~ Adelaide Fringe 2020 Review

[Comedy/Stand Up ~ UK] Upstairs at Belgian Beer Cafe ‘Oostende’, Sat 16 Feb. Self-proclaimed “whinging pom” Dan Willis has returned to Adelaide Fringe for another laughter-filled show. An expat from the motherland (and now firmly lodged into Australia thanks to his “little visa” and “little anchor”) Dan has a great fondness for his new Australian home but retains a razor sharp observational eye on the yawning gulf between the two. His humour therefore rightly revolves around these differences, both the banal and extraordinary. Playing to an appreciative (and very English expat) crowd upstairs in the Belgian Beer Café in Adelaide’s delightful East End, Dan took us on a tour covering food (don’t ask for slices of that particular brand of cheese in a Tesco’s if you want to live), our native fauna both real and imaginary and lethal and not, and a wide range of remarkably funny personal anecdotes.
