Desperate And Dateless and Singing Up a Storm at La Bohème – Cabaret Fringe Review

La Bohème, Sat 6 Jun Desperate and Dateless is a great mix of cabaret (they termed part of the show ‘Date-aret), gorgeous voices, charming people, sass, pizazz and a few hints of Bogan to keep us all down to earth. Some of the highlights in songs/song ideas were Tinderella (9 out of 10 of my therapists recommend it, evidently), Beaver (when one of the gals ‘came out”), Blame The Booger (perhaps the only reason not to say yes?) and I Just Want To Fucken Cuddle You, to name a few. Overall the show was a treat, well scripted and crafted, wonderfully delivered and totally engaging, a great mix of narrative, character and comedy. There was also audience participation with a dating quiz show session that involved one of the unsuspecting audience members and a classic delivery of “here’s my number” with the gals putting their contact details out there.
