‘ROCKETMAN’S LAST RIDE’.
Elton John has been visiting Australian audiences since 1971. I can think of few International artists who have toured here 22 times and it’s because we have always loved him. We loved his talent. We loved the performances. We loved the glitz, glamour and zaniness. We loved his friendship with Molly Meldrum and him hosting countdown and throwing cake around. We loved those songs that Elton crafted with his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin. We loved the music. And we loved him.
Last night and tonight, Sir Elton is performing in Adelaide for the very last time as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road, his final world tour. In the beautiful Botanic Park, the weather was perfect, the sound immaculate, and the audience ready to party. Packing his entire set with all the big hits from his career Elton proved once again why he is one of the greats.
ABC.net.au are reporting as many as 200 people were turned away last night after purchasing tickets through the Via-Go-Go ticket reselling internet site. Tickets are still available for tonight’s performance through the official outlet Ticketmaster.
