[CABARET/Comedy ~ WORLD PREMIERE ~ SA]

The Cabaret Room at The Crown And Sceptre Hotel, Thu 12 Mar.

Sarah Valle is the epitome of nerd cool – black Docs, awesome black dress, pink and blue hair, and a Star Wars t-shirt and figurine collection that needs its own postcode. Despite a last-minute change of set list due to an unexpected case of sore throat, Sarah killed it.

Touching on things like coming of age in a Catholic school while being an unashamed hard-core Harry Potter devotee, to finding her place in life and of being fat-shamed, Sarah’s joy and enthusiasm for life and music nonetheless shone through in spades. Although quite self-deprecating at times, Sarah has a firm grip on the innocent child-like joys that we could all do with a daily dose of – naïvely smart and smartly naïve… she is delightfully infectious to all in the room.

Keyboard solos, including an impressive Star Wars medley, were interspersed with endearing anecdotes. This was a performance that felt like having a chat in your bedroom with your friend, I wanted it to go on and on.

Hey Sarah, want to hang out some time and watch The Rise Of Skywalker again?
