Granny Flaps Shows Us Her “Best Bits” – Adelaide Fringe Review

The Crown and Anchor Hotel, Tue Feb 17 Granny Flaps was absolutely hilarious! Most of the audience tonight had seen Granny Flaps before, which was a great early sign of an enjoyable show to come. Created by Adelaide comedian Lori Bell, Granny Flaps exposed all her sexy secrets. Old people saying inappropriate things are always pretty entertaining and they seem to be able to get away with saying almost anything to others. Lori Bell uses this to her advantage in being able to tackle everything sex related in such a blunt and direct way revealing all of Granny Flap’s experiences and fantasies, but also hypothesising about the audience’s sex lives too. Lori Bell has performed the character of Granny Flaps for many years and she absolutely perfected it tonight, especially in her banter with the audience. It was non-stop laughter. Granny Flaps strums away on her ukulele and sings both original songs and some popular covers, like I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor about large appendages and Rehab by Amy Winehouse about male pubic hair. This is definitely an adult show, because although Granny Flaps may look like an innocent old lady, there is nothing innocent about her topics.
