ComedySuperNova – The Mars Room, Thu Mar 5

Combining both comedy and original music, Josh Earl’s Square Peg is a show that is not to be missed at the Adelaide Fringe. Addressing the theme of trying to fit in and extrapolating from different points of his life, from when he was a fourteen-year-old in Tasmania to singing a ballad for his young sons today, Josh Earl provides humour with charming sincerity. He gently pokes fun at where he comes from but accepts it as part of his identity and comedic inspiration.

Both warm and genuine, Earl engages with the audience in a conversational matter, taking the show to a more personal level. His original songs on various topics, such as his old footy coach and what does Jesus get his dad for fathers day, are spectacular and lift the show above a standard comedic stand-up routine. Also notable is his hilarious mini-play about the first handshake that had the audience in tears.

Make sure you see Josh Earl this weekend before he heads back to Melbourne!
