The Garden Of Unearthly Delights’ Cupola, Thu Feb 19

Comedian Luke McGregor undoubtedly does worry that he worries too much. Winning a number of Best Newcomer Awards in the past two years and featuring on ABC television series It’s A Date and Utopia, Luke McGregor has certainly found his niche. His obsessive compulsive and anxious tendencies have become something that he is comfortable sharing and having people laugh at and laugh with him. His nerves, ticks and panicky giggle are his most endearing qualities, but also sometimes his downfalls, especially tonight in the beginning when he was rushed and difficult to understand.

Tonight McGregor spoke of his obsessive rituals and how he manages living alone, dating and trying to get feedback after sex. McGregor is not someone that can banter well with the audience compared with many other comedians, but his interactions with them are still hilarious because of his petrified response to questions he has asked them. Some of the funniest moments occur after the ‘Would you rather…?’ audience questions.

Personally, I prefer McGregor in his television appearances where he is more contained, but I’m interested in the future direction of his stand-up comedy. Tonight’s show was sold out so get in quick if you want tickets!
