[MAGIC/ILLUSION ~ WORLD PREMIERE ~ SA]
Gluttony –The Flamingo, Tue 5 Mar.
Adelaide born and raised magician and mentalist Matt Tarrant once again returns to his hometown for the 2019 Fringe, and if his new show is anything to go by I’ve no doubt it will be another stellar season for the accomplished illusionist.
Matt Tarrant: MORE Unsolved is a well-crafted showcase for the performer, demonstrating his keen ability to take street magic and elevate it to an entertaining illusion filled hour, causing audible gasps, surprised faces and double takes from a happily bamboozled audience.
Dressed in unassuming black jeans, baseball cap and sneakers, Tarrant lets the magic be the star, proving why he is so likeable, relatable and an award winning performer. With a welcoming smile and affable personality, Tarrant has the audience in the palm of his hand from the moment he takes out a pack of cards for his first magic trick.
With a little help from audience members, Tarrant fills the stage with wit, joy and illusion. Be it a doll sized plunger that is able to read minds, a goose who delivers magic Uber Eats or a moment between audience members that will have you genuinely believing in ESP, Tarrant will have you hooked all the way to the dumbfounding and clever grand finale.
Matt Tarrant: MORE Unsolved is a show without the need for any pretentious glitz and glamour or clichéd smoke and mirrors. The show, like the magician, is humble, charming, thoroughly entertaining and filled with impressive old school down to earth magic.
