mix juice is a tremendous showcase of the art of mime. It is a one-man show but what a show! Makoto Inoue trained in Paris and Tokyo and he uses his incredible mime skills to create a magical world using recorded sound effects. It is a comedy show that is very engaging and easily understood. Makoto includes the audience in his fantasy, making the experience more enjoyable and also hilarious as we watch various audience members become part of the show.

Makoto performs a whole universe of situations and characters – segueing easily from one to the other – and there are stories along the way and marvels of creativity. He is very skilful in conveying emotions, the creaks and pains of bodies of all ages both human and animal. In particular his robots and machines are a marvel to see and hear.

The shifts are so quick it is like watching a rapid edit in a film. It is fast paced and full of witty moments. There is music and song as part of the soundtrack and his French influences are apparent everywhere. Mime is a unique art form and here is a chance to see one of the best.

As an international multi-award-winning artist and winner of the Gold Medal at two International Mime Festivals he deserves to be seen by a really big audience.
