The GC – Studio, Tue 16 Feb
Hilariously astounding British comedian and magician Paul Dabek returns to Adelaide with his brand new show Nothing Up My Sleeve! Entertaining as he is, Dabek wows and captivates his audience with surprise, amazement and an abundance of cheeky humour, as he fascinates and enthralls the crowd through every minute of the performance.
Dabek’s brash interaction with audience members had the room constantly erupting in laughter and enjoying every minute of it! Many become participants of the show, myself included, with a few people surrendering their wedding rings and one man loaning a fifty dollar note for some wizardry. Of course, all borrowed items were eventually returned, leaving volunteers in awe as to ‘how he did that’.
Dabek has an astonishing talent for shadow puppetry using only his hands to create beautiful, naughty animals. But there are no spoilers here; you’ll have to head along to the show to experience the fun of that story for yourselves. It’s a fabulous evening of magic, quips, comedy and plenty of fun.
The mesmerising quick-wit that is Paul Dabek is a must see at this year’s Adelaide Fringe. Expect the unexpected and relish in the fun.
