[COMEDY/MUSIC]

The Garden Of Unearthly Delights – Fortuna Spiegeltent, Fri 1 Mar.

An evening of rollercoaster feelings – of the good kind – for everyone at the Fortuna Spiegeltent; the gathered crowd and performers alike. While many comics are always seen to be ‘on’, it was a lovely change to see a more thoughtful and reflective duo at times. A duo that share the stage equally, Paul with his larger than life persona who uses the space around him to include the audience in what he is saying and sharing, and Steven with his steady support steering the evening back on course with playful asides to the crowd and playing all of the music heard throughout the show on many a varied instrument.

It was a joy to watch them riff off each other and obviously enjoying their time on stage together both sharing stories and original songs of times gone by, of how they met and the funny and sometimes tragic reasons for these songs being performed. There are many laughs to be had, through the anecdotes told in spoken speech but also beautifully sung rhyme with exquisite harmonies and counterpoint.

You will meet the ‘Paul and Steven’ you know and love, but will also see a side of each of them that shows there is so much more than laughter going on, but that can be enjoyed and laughed at and with too.
