The Garden Of Unearthly Delights – The Spiegeltent

Peter Combe returns to delight big kids, and a few little ones, with old and new favourites alike. With his Juicy Juicy Green Band (including his son as a special guest for the night) in toe, a night full of fun, nostalgia, dancing and sing-a-longs was had by all.

Starting the night off with Big Yellow Ball, the majority of the first half is filled with some of the slower songs and some more recent releases from Combe including Jack And The Beanstalk, Quirky Berserky (The Turkey From Turkey) and Baghdad. The audience was also treated to a cover of Here Comes The Sun as a tribute to the recently departed George Martin.

Once we got through that, then the real fun began and as Mr. Clicketty Cane began the empty space in the middle of the beautiful Spiegeltent transformed into a mosh pit, choc full of big kids singing and resiting the choreography they would have learnt all those years ago. Combe made his way through all the favourites; Spaghetti Bolognaise, Tadpole Blues, Newspaper Mama and finished the night off with one of his many classics Juicy Juicy Green Grass.

By the end of the show there were probably more people up dancing than there were people sitting which was both amazing and wonderful to watch. But something that was probably even more enjoyable to watch was Peter Combe and the endless smile on his face! It was clear to see that even after all these years what he does brings him so much joy. His delightful and silly voices, superb band, bounding persona and contagious smile and, of course ingenious songs, made for a fun night out!
