Peter Combe: Wash Your Kids In Orange Juice – Adelaide Fringe Review

The Garden Of Unearthly Delights’ Vagabond, Sat Feb 21 Can Peter Combe really do any wrong? Presenting a beautifully ageless persona, he performs a fabulous program for kids of all ages and is accompanied throughout the concert by several dancers from Theatre Bugs. The kids were professional and assisted the little ones from the audience by encouraging them to get up and dance in the carefully prepared space at the front; something that can sometimes detract from a boppy kids show. Peter has a few new songs to throw into the mix and, of course, the well loved and expected favourites towards the end – Newspaper Mama, Juicy Green Grass and a tweaked version of Wash Your Face In Orange Juice. Combe’s keyboard player plumped out the sound sufficiently and added a lot of colour to the show, and the interaction with the kids by Combe was first rate. Our small attendee gave it a huge thumbs up and said how ‘funny and kind Mr. Combe’ was. We have to agree.
