Gluttony’s The Piglet, Tue Mar 3

From the outset of the show, the audience was asked to dictate three random characters to Rebecca, who then undertook their persona and, with the assistance of a ‘ding’ bell every few minutes and a darkened room to imply character changeover, switched seamlessly between the three characters in an improv that can only be described as very slick. She intertwined the story of three lonely characters and cleverly mimicked similar scenarios and phrases in the context of three totally different people, in different stages of life, and in different thought processes.

It was extremely clever and while the show itself isn’t hysterically funny, it was very amusing and fast paced, and more of an amusing theatre performance. Rebecca interacted well with the audience and mocked gently the sounds from other tents which is always quite funny when introducing another performers’ faraway leftover noises into your own show. Her characters were likeable and believable and resonated with everyone in the room.
