[COMEDY/Theatre ~ AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE ~ UK]
The May Wirth at Gluttony, Fri 21 Feb.
The hilarious worldwide sensation that is Shit–Faced Shakespeare has returned to Adelaide Fringe to give us genuine belly laughs. With previous instalments of Shakespeare classics like Romeo & Juliet and Midsummer Night’s Dream, the current season of Hamlet promises just as much entertainment and they do not disappoint – once again.
Five classically trained actors on stage to bring to you a classic Shakespeare piece of theatre, with one major difference! Each night a different actor gets absolutely ‘shit–faced’. Drunk as a skunk, this actor attempts to take part in a serious Shakespeare drama, with seriously funny results!
The compare attempts to keep things in control, adding to the comical disaster that has us laughing/crying in our seats. Two audience members have the very very important assignment of making sure our inebriated actor does not sober up during the performance and a third has the questionable job of being the bucket bearer, the meaning of which if you don’t know now, will be quite clearly be explained on the night!
Once again this troupe of actors do not disappoint, be quick to get tickets, the tent is full and the fun is contagious!
Shit –Faced Shakespeare: Hamlet continues at The May Wirth at Gluttony from 9.30pm until Sun 15 Mar.
