Holden Street Theatres’ Studio, Tue Mar 10
Perth duo Laura Boynes and Tony Currie bring some unique contemporary dance work to the 2015 Adelaide Fringe. The piece looks at the ridiculous nature of living in the 21st century. There are several elements to piece which make it absorbing.
There is no dialogue at any point. The performance is driven by the use of music, lighting, shadows and quirky props. Although the subject matter is serious, there are several humorous moments that keep it light hearted. There are no guidelines as to what each part of the piece or props means so the audience is free to create meaning for themselves. Boynes and Currie have put together an extremely interesting perspective on environmental and social aspects of today’s society with great passion, flare and intensity.
Sous Vide is a fast paced and engaging dance piece. The two performers are captivating from start to finish. A unique and fascinating piece of contemporary dance.
