The Luwak – Adelaide’s Premier Comedy Night: Killing ’em With Laughter @ Rhino Room… And It’s Only The Beginning… – Review

Rhino Room, Sat 28 May The last Saturday of every month brings the cream of comedy to the home of Adelaide Comedy, Rhino Room for The Luwak. Hosted by the extremely funny and cheeky man himself Mickey D, The Luwak is ‘Adelaide’s Premium Comedy Night’ which, on this occasion, consists of three world class comedy acts including Kel Balnaves, Mike Klimczak and Georgie Carroll. Kel Balnaves wore his best ‘flanny’ shirt and decided to discuss ‘world issues’ for The Luwak… that’s how premium this event is! Tackling the tough issues like ‘the environment’ and racism, Kel managed to have everyone in stitches from the get go. His sassy face and laid back attitude made even the toughest topics hilarious. Who knew environmental shopping bags, parking inspectors and spiders could be so much fun! Mike Klimczak may look like a middle-aged version of ‘Booger’ from Revenge Of The Nerds but he has to have one of the most animated voices I have heard on the comedy circuit! His act was interactive, extremely amusing and believably true; touching on those distasteful subjects that are so loved in comedy – like aging, sex, Kochie and all the milestones that go with it! Georgie Carroll is everyone’s favourite and craziest nurse who knows how to have a good laugh at everything including aggressive patients, tasering ferals, workplace bullying and especially laughing at herself! Georgie’s mockery of the nursing profession and its patients is done in a way that nurses around the world would applaud and nod in agreement. Georgie’s expressions are GOLD and her joviality guarantees even the crankiest, cantankerous individuals would gut laugh during one of her shows. The Luwak is an event in itself, with pre-ordered drinks during each break and friendly, happy staff and hilarious comedians. Adelaide Comedy is not only buzzing during the Fringe season, it is booming and successful all year round. Rhino Room is Adelaide’s ‘home of comedy’ and has everything you could want in a night out including national and international superstars of comedy, warm inviting place to hang all year ‘round and lots of happiness and laughter, so get in there and support Adelaide Comedy.
