Gluttony – The Octagon, Fri 11 Mar.

Canadian superstar comedian Tom Green renowned for his show on MTV, hosting Saturday Night Live and movie Freddie Got Fingered is definitely not a quiet, reserved, shy kind of guy. With his loud brashness he found it particularly easy to find people in the audience to pick on from the beginning of the show right until the very end remembering each and every person of interest’s name!

Jetlag didn’t stop him or his quick intellect on this ‘2016 No Responsibilities Tinder Tour’ as he spoke about all his relationship disappointments including the amazing five month marriage to his ex-wife Drew Barrymore. Green’s show was chaotic and somewhat agitated as he swapped between his ‘topics’, general advice and constant dialogue with his targets in the audience.

Green’s subjects including America’s next president/Celebrity Apprentice boss who fired him in season two, Donald Trump, bodies in the barrels, MH370, 9/11, dingoes and technology including social media. Focussing on how social media has changed the world as everything and everyone is so much more accessible than when he was a child, and how he loitered in cedar hedges due to severe boredom. Acting out any line from Freddie Got Fingered sent the audience into a frenzy shouting out lines.

Tom Green is brash and his show is uproarious, boisterous, rowdy and sometimes he goes a tad too far but it’s exactly what you expect from a man with his comedic history. Tom Green is here for a short time but he definitely has a huge fan base who enthusiastically waited to both get into the venue and then to meet the man outside after.

Green is confident, candid and definitely impetuous and his show encompasses all of which makes him the successful comedian he is today.
