Too Much: Angela Faith Is Original, Engaging And Lots Of Fun ~ Adelaide Fringe 2021 Review              

[THEATRE/Comedy ~ WORLD PREMIERE ~ VIC]     The Lark (open-air) at Gluttony, Thu 5 Mar. Angela Faith starts with an entrance with a segue and while words and word play is a key part of this show – this one was for riding on! She came in chatting with the modest-sized crowd, making us feel at ease and made it clear – this would be no toned-down effort – this was a full-energy show. Soon enough we’re all doing a relaxation exercise to soften our sphincter… yes, it’s that kind of show. Angela’s performance was definitely full of energy, fun and irreverence, bodily parts and scents. I mean, who really would trust a person who claimed that, as a child, she ate poo! While this might be the world premiere of a new show, and it is clear that Angela has plenty of experience, and not just in comedy – she can do the dramatic just as well, and as for energy levels –  bouncing and posturing around on the stage, dance moves and theatre – she has it. There is a bit of Jean Kittson’s Candida in her outfit and moves, often stretching, bending and doing yoga poses while delivering punch lines. She is similarly ditzy, flitting between stories, one-liners, slow-burners and returning to the point – sometimes multiple times after having ‘distracted’ herself with yet another hilarious side-track. Even the staged battery failure of her microphone leads to some ‘unexpected’ hilarity. We keep coming back to her in her child’s bed in the Domestic Canary Yellow room – and eventually the discovery of the greatest scent in the world! She’s original, engaging, very positive and lots of fun.
