The Garden Of Unearthly Delights’ Le Cascadeur, Fri Feb 27
Circus, clowning and physical theatre, with three overall-clad ‘garbologists’ and their wheelie bins meet the world of children in Trash Test Dummies – a show that the girls in the audience appreciated just as much as the boys!
Throughout the show there are skits with some great musical themes, for example Swan Lake, 2001 (A Space Odyssey) and Frank Sinatra singing New York, New York, to name a few. The choreography of the show to the music works superbly well for each, different modes, moods and stunts. Before the show starts there is something of a stage clean-up happening, with an opportunity for audience engagement, something that these ‘dummies’ have down to a tee.
Through the many skits and stunts, to an all-in ball fight with the audience, a romp of the players right through the audience, to the very end, where the kids are invited to come and help clean up the stage – the Trash Test Dummies keep a solid connection with their audience.
The ‘dummies’ have great skills in melodrama, their faces seem elastic to the point of being shows in themselves! There is plenty of mojo in this show, it’s a lot of fun for audience members from age three or gour right through to their grandparent(s) who get to take them along,. Find yourself a babysitting gig and get them there – its sure to be a hoot!
