AIE Adelaide Campus, Sat 20 Feb
I was lucky enough today to ‘get my geek on’ but not in a world of ‘make believe’, instead I was welcomed into a world of ‘create believe’, where terrain, trees and waterfalls were placed in the world of my creation in the places I commanded.
Carl led our group from the start by giving us each access to a computer programme called UNITY and the tools and skills to navigate it and if we struggled, Carl was there to help us too and before we know it a world of infinite possibilities opens up right before our very eyes.
Each student’s world is as different as the next but all our very own, to take home and keep creating, or starting a new, over and over again.
Wild Game Workshop is a good place to start (even for a novice like me) if you have ever wondered ‘what if’ and ‘if only it looked like this or that’ for any computer game you have ever used. Whilst the 5 hour workshop really is just a taster, for those interested, it could open your mind and horizons if it is a field you are interested in as AIE offer a 2 year course as well.
I really enjoyed my afternoon and might even go back for the advanced tutorial too.
